Manchester United have reportedly begun contract talks with the young midfield talent, who has been compared to Manchester City legend Yaya Toure.
Amorim aims to sign Manchester United academy
Before this football hit the headlines against Bournemouth, Ruben Amorim found himself at the center of a number of controversies, dropping the names of three academy players in an unexpected rant.
There have been questions about the Manchester United manager’s lack of use of Koby Mainu this season, with the midfielder’s younger brother even appearing at Old Trafford on Monday night wearing a ‘Free Koby Mainu’ T-shirt. However, Amorim’s reaction in the run-up to the Bournemouth game was cruel and has divided opinion ever since.
he said: “The door is open for any player to change my mind, just like any other player, but at the end of the day it’s training and games…Of course he hasn’t played that many games, but Coby had his chances, especially last year.
“Everyone was like that… (Harry) Amass is struggling at the moment in the Championship (Sheffield on Wednesday).
“Chido (Obi) hasn’t always been a starter for the Under-21s. They all played when there were a lot of people saying, ‘Sack the manager,’ so you can see I’m not worried. I just look at the team, try to win the next game and try to think about the team. I’ll do that until the end.”
According to recent reports, Mainu is one of the players who is likely to be on loan for at least the rest of the season, heading for his exit in January, amid interest from the likes of Bayern Munich.
But the young midfielder’s biggest concern is that Amorim reportedly admires Chris Inao-Ulai. He is another young midfielder who could end Maynou’s Old Trafford career for good.
Man U reveal contract negotiations with Inao Olaoui
According to TeamTalk, Manchester United have opened contract negotiations with Inao Ourai and have established contacts in a bid to gain a one-point lead over rivals Manchester City.
As bad as the show: Manchester United star had his club’s worst game against Bournemouth
Manchester United were held to a frenetic 4-4 draw with Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old Trabzonspor midfielder has reportedly been compared to Yaya Toure by the Ivorian public thanks to his dominant performances and ability to score and create goals.
Inao Ulay, who talent scout Jacek Kulig dubbed as a “great” prospect among several others earlier this week, could offer Amorim a young midfielder he prefers over Mainu, who continues to watch from the bench.
But before the Red Devils can consider bringing in the 19-year-old, they will have to fend off interest from Man City, who are hoping to sign Toure next.
