Tyson Fury Slams ‘Classless’ Anthony Joshua Following Threat to Face Fearsome Jake Paul

Tyson Fury showed no respect for Anthony Joshua’s claim that he might have to “kill” him inside the boxing ring and made that clear. The rivalry between Fury and Joshua has been ongoing since their sparring days years before Fury became the world heavyweight champion. Despite both being British and among their generation’s top fighters, a match between them never came to fruition.

Fury recently stirred the pot again by sharing an Instagram video where he harshly criticized Joshua’s recent remarks made during a media event. Joshua, a two-time champion, said he would “kill” his opponent, though it was clear he was using hyperbole to hype a fight.

Fury, known for his bluntness, responded with a video on Instagram where he dismissed Joshua’s comments. Fury stated, “They sent me a video of Anthony Joshua saying if he’s going to kill someone, it’ll be in the ring. He’s too smart to say stuff like that.” Fury then mocked Joshua for fighting YouTuber Jake Paul, pointing out Joshua’s age and decline, saying, “He’s at the end of his career fighting a Disney Channel YouTuber that Tommy (Fury) beat.” Fury called Joshua an “idiot” and a “classless loser,” referencing Joshua’s knockout loss to Daniel Dubois. Fury roundly predicted that Jake Paul would knock Joshua out and told Joshua to “wake up.”

Fan Take: This heated exchange highlights the deep divisions and drama fueling boxing’s heavyweight scene, keeping fans engaged and the sport relevant beyond just the fights. The ongoing personal rivalries add layers of narrative that can lead to blockbuster matchups, bringing excitement and attention to the sport worldwide.
