Sozy Sets Sights on Additional Global Accolades

Andre Favre is contemplating entering Socier in the Dubai Sheema Classic following his impressive performance in the Hong Kong Verses. Apart from a disappointing run at Eclipse, the four-year-old has shown consistent form, placing fourth and third in the last two editions of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

His win in Hong Kong marked his fourth victory at the highest level, and aside from his race at Sandown, it was on the fastest track he had ever raced on. Given this, additional international targets are being considered for the Sea the Stars offspring, owned by the Wertheimer brothers.

“It’s a tremendous achievement for a truly exceptional horse,” said Reverend Favre. “I’ve won this race several times, but to even consider participating, you need an outstanding horse. I know the conditions will be ideal, which always suits a quality horse. Socier enjoys good tracks, and his current condition reflects that — he has always appeared to control his races easily. Dubai is definitely an option for him, rather than the Carnival, and he might compete in the Sheema Classic on the night of the World Cup, staying in training from five o’clock.”

Fan Take: This development is exciting for horse racing enthusiasts as it highlights Socier’s rising prominence on the international stage, promising thrilling competition ahead. Favre’s strategic targeting of global races like the Dubai Sheema Classic could elevate the sport’s profile and bring more attention to top-tier racing worldwide.
