Manchester City are reportedly looking to beat their rivals to sign Antoine Semenyo and have offered one of their star players to Bournemouth.

Josep Guardiola’s side appear ready to part with a key defensive asset to secure the versatile Ghanaian international.

Manchester City offer Nathan Ake as part of Antoine Semenyo deal

Manchester City have officially stepped up their pursuit of the Bournemouth standout star, according to the latest information from transfer sources.

Sources say City have made an offer to bring Nathan Ake back to his former club, while also negotiating specific payment terms for Semenyo.

He told X: “Exclusive: Manchester City offered Nathan Ake to Bournemouth while negotiating payment terms for Antoine Semenyo.”

This player-plus-cash offer is seen as a strategic move to ease the initial financial burden while providing Bournemouth with immediate, high-quality defensive reinforcements.

Semenho’s stock has risen dramatically this season and his ability to play across the frontline has made him a priority target for manager Josep Guardiola.

Antoine Semenyo has also been linked with Liverpool in recent months, with previous reports suggesting the Reds were the frontrunners for his signature.

According to reports, the Reds had made contact with Bournemouth through Richard Hughes in November.

Furthermore, recent reports have suggested that Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Semenyo and that the player also wants to move to Anfield.

However, the latest updates from the likes of Ben Jacobs and David Ornstein suggest that Manchester clubs, particularly Manchester City, are seen as favorites to sign Semenyo, overtaking the Reds.

If the move goes through, it would be an emotional return to the Vitality Stadium for Nathan Ake.

Since joining Manchester City from Bournemouth in 2020 for an estimated £41m, the Dutch international has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at the Etihad.

He is a versatile asset to Pep, having played both at centre-back and left-back. He played a key role in City’s treble, winning a total of nine trophies during his time at the Etihad.

City fans may be disappointed to see the departure of a reliable performer, but the lure of Antoine Semenyo’s potential appears too great for the club to ignore.
