  • Aston Villa in race to sign left-back

Aston Villa have emerged as the latest club to show concrete interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers defender David Moller-Wolf, as manager Unai Emery continues to shape his squad with both the present and the future in mind.

According to Football Insider, Villa are actively exploring left-back options ahead of the January transfer window and Wolff is seen as a player who fits the club’s evolving profile.

Given his European ambitions and demanding fixture schedule, Villa’s recruitment team are keen to secure a smooth transition to left-back, hoping to acquire a young option who can gradually take on greater responsibility as he develops under Emery.

Wolves, 23, only joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer on a long-term deal until 2030, but Wolves’ disastrous Premier League season has changed his situation significantly.

Wolfe has impressed for the Wolves this season.

Despite the collective struggles at Molineux, Wolff stood out as one of the few positive players. Scouts are impressed with his energy and ability to contribute in both offensive and defensive situations.

The Norwegian showed the qualities of a modern full-back, maintaining defensive discipline and being comfortable pushing high up the flank.

The player is reportedly open to a move from Wolves as it would give him career stability and the opportunity to continue his development in a conducive environment.

Villa are not alone in their praise, with other Premier League teams also believed to be keeping a close eye on Wolves’ situation should Wolves’ relegation fears deepen.

But Villa’s quick approach and long-term planning could give them an advantage, especially if they act early.

Emery and his recruitment team are positioning the club to remain competitive while protecting a future in which Wolff may soon be at the center of that vision.
