Charlotte Hornets rookie Con Knuppel made history as the quickest player in NBA history to reach 100 three-pointers, achieving this milestone during a 139-132 defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 20-year-old, who was the fourth overall pick in the 2025 draft, hit his 100th three-pointer in just 29 games at Rocket Arena in the first quarter.

Previously, Lauri Markkanen of the Utah Jazz held the record, reaching 100 three-pointers in 41 games while playing for the Chicago Bulls during the 2017-18 season. In the game against the Cavaliers, Knuppel sank five out of nine three-point attempts, finishing with 20 points. His teammates LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller added 23 and 20 points, respectively.

For the Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell scored 30 points, DeAndre Hunter had 27, and Darius Garland contributed 27 points along with 10 assists. Currently, in the Eastern Conference standings, the Cavaliers hold the seventh position, while the Hornets are ranked twelfth.

Fan Take: Con Knuppel’s rapid shooting success signals a new wave of sharpshooters who could reshape offensive strategies in the NBA. This milestone highlights the evolving pace of the game and gives fans hope for exciting, high-scoring contests ahead.
