Carlos Sainz has shown his appreciation to Williams after completing his debut Formula 1 season with the team, demonstrating his admirable sportsmanship. The Spanish driver gifted the Williams F1 Team a specially designed print along with a heartfelt letter, thanking them for their support and warmly welcoming himself to the Grove.

Sainz joined Williams following the loss of his Ferrari seat to seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton but ended up enjoying a surprisingly successful first season with the blue and white squad. He secured two notable podium finishes, placing third in Azerbaijan and Qatar, and, alongside teammate Alex Albon, contributed to Williams achieving fifth place in the constructors’ championship.

This marked Williams’ best F1 finish in almost ten years and was the first time since 2016 that a British team has surpassed the 100-point mark. Reflecting on the season, Sainz expressed gratitude for the warm reception at Williams and praised the team’s hard work, which led to surpassing their goal of fifth place and enjoying memorable moments like podiums and sprint race wins.

He emphasized that the achievements stemmed from collective effort and teamwork and expressed optimism about building on the progress made for the upcoming season. Sainz reaffirmed his commitment to helping the team reach its ultimate objective of winning again and urged everyone to take pride in what they are building together. He concluded by encouraging the team to rest and recharge for a strong return in 2026.

Sainz finished the season ninth in the drivers’ standings, earning 64 points, just behind Albon.

Fan Take: Carlos Sainz’s respectful and positive approach highlights the importance of teamwork and resilience in F1. His strong debut season with Williams not only revitalizes a historic team but also promises exciting competition and growth in the sport’s near future.
