  • Manchester United sign Yann Diomande
  • Player comparison: Antoine Semenyo vs Diomand

Manchester United are considering alternatives following top target Antoine Semenyo’s decision to leave for the blue half of the city.

The Red Devils were prepared to take extraordinary measures to secure Semenyo’s contract, including offering to build a team around him. However, they were not ready to break with the existing wage structure.

But the lure of Champions League football and the chance to play under Pep Guardiola ultimately proved decisive for the Bournemouth star.

Manchester United sign Yann Diomande

Ruben Amorim’s side are currently considering replacement players and one player who has emerged as a top candidate is Yann Diomande.

This was first reported by ITK, who responded to a fan’s question about X by mentioning the player as a United target.

And a trusted insider also confirmed this through a source. In fact, his sources claim that Man United have been in contact with RB Leipzig regarding a move for Diomande.

A source told X: Exclusive: We can confirm that Man United have been in contact with RB Leipzig in the past few hours regarding Yann Diomande. Manchester United are big fans of their players. ”

Player comparison: Antoine Semenyo vs Diomand

While Semenyo’s absence is undoubtedly a blow, the underlying numbers suggest Yann Diomande could offer a higher ceiling for the Red Devils.

Both players achieved sensational results during the 2025/26 season.

As the table shows, Diomande already rivals Semenyo’s achievements at a much younger age and with greater technical precision.

Diomande has already contributed 11 goals in 16 games in his debut season in the Bundesliga, making it an unusual return for a 19-year-old, although Semenyo is more experienced in the Premier League and has slightly more goals.

Leipzig’s attacker also boasts excellent dribbling ability and passing accuracy, highlighting his technical superiority.

Diomande may need an adaptation period due to his age, but United believe his profile is suitable for a long-term rebuild, and there is a growing feeling internally that he could surpass Semenyo’s overall impact in the coming years.
