Peter Hickman and Davey Todd Set to Drive BMW’s BSB Campaign Through 2026

Peter Hickman and Davey Todd have confirmed they will remain with the 8Ten Racing team for the 2026 British Superbike (BSB) season. The duo formed the 8Ten team late in the 2025 preseason after the FHO team, which they were initially set to ride for, disappeared.

In road racing, the team had an impressive 2025 season, securing victories at the North West 200, Isle of Man TT, Southern 100, and Macau Grand Prix aboard the BMW M1000 RR, even though both riders suffered injuries during TT practice week. However, the BSB season was tougher, with Todd, in his first full Superbike season, achieving a top finish of 14th place and scoring points only three times. Hickman, who missed much of the season due to injury, managed a best finish of 13th.

Despite the difficulties, Hickman remains optimistic about 2026, highlighting the progress made despite a rushed 2025 start and his injury setback. He praised the team’s effort and expressed excitement about testing and competing with full BMW support as the official team for BSB, North West 200, and Isle of Man TT.

Contrary to earlier suggestions, Todd confirmed his commitment to continuing with 8Ten Racing for another BSB season, aiming to improve his performance. He described 2025 as a season of highs and lows but celebrated their road racing successes and is eager to push forward in 2026.

Team manager Darren Jones emphasized that with increased support from BMW and a full preseason, the team is better positioned for 2026. He acknowledged the challenges faced building the team swiftly in 2025 and praised the riders’ progress despite setbacks, expressing confidence in a stronger start to the upcoming season. He also thanked sponsors and suppliers for their invaluable support throughout the year.

Fan Take: This announcement is exciting news for racing enthusiasts, as it signals continuity and growth for 8Ten Racing, a team that showed strong potential despite a tough debut year. With enhanced BMW support and a full preseason ahead, fans can look forward to heightened competition and more thrilling performances in both road and circuit racing disciplines next season.
