Hawk Racing has announced that reigning British Supersport Champion Rhys Irwin and fellow newcomer Eugene McManus will join their team for the 2026 Bennett British Superbike Championship season. Irwin, originally from Donegal, secured the BSS title this year by a narrow margin of four points over Ben Currie, while McManus, from Belfast, achieved several podium finishes and ended the season in sixth place overall.

Both riders will race under the MasterMac banner next season. Irwin, 23, expressed his excitement about joining Bennett BSB, praising the team’s reputation for nurturing young talent and describing the opportunity as a dream come true following his championship win. Meanwhile, 26-year-old McManus spoke confidently about his consistent performance over the years and his readiness to prove himself in the Superbike category, aiming for strong results in his first season.

Team manager Steve Hicken emphasized his confidence in both riders’ talent and determination to succeed in their new roles, highlighting Irwin’s impressive form and McManus’s ability to compete with top Supersport riders. Roger James, Managing Director of MasterMac Surfacing, the team’s title sponsor, hailed the addition of Irwin and McManus as a significant boost and expressed his eagerness to support their efforts on the track.

The 2026 Bennett British Superbike Championship will kick off in May at Oulton Park.

Fan Take: This lineup brings fresh energy and high potential to the Bennett BSB, making the season one to watch for racing fans. With a reigning champion and a proven contender joining Hawk Racing, the competition is set to intensify, promising thrilling battles and showcasing the next generation of biking talent.
