Newcastle United goalkeeper Odyseas Brachodimos is currently on loan at Spanish club Sevilla.
He struggled to gain regular minutes at the Premier League club and was eventually loaned out to La Liga. The 31-year-old goalkeeper has been doing very well for Sevilla, who have been very impressed with his performances.
Sevilla want to sign Vlahodimos permanently
They want to sign the player permanently and it will be interesting to see if they can agree a deal with Newcastle. The goalkeeper has no future at the Premier League club and wants to sort out his long-term future.
According to a report by SportWitness, the player’s agent said he has enjoyed his time at the Spanish club and is open to a permanent move. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can reach a final agreement. He is likely to be available at a nominal price.
Odyseas Vlacodimos is trying to sort out his future
The 31-year-old wants to sort out his long-term future and focus on his football again. He is a reliable player for Sevilla and they will expect him to stay and play every week. Returning to England means nothing to him. He will be the club’s third-choice goalkeeper but will not be available for matches.
Newcastle will likely consider cutting his salary as well. They will be desperate to sell the player and cut their losses on him. It would be reasonable to assume that the transfer will be agreed upon.
The player’s contract with Newcastle runs until 2028, and for a transfer to take place, he will need to respond reasonably to Newcastle’s demands. He is expected to return to the English club at the end of his loan contract, but hopes the two clubs can reach an agreement quickly to allow him to return to the Spanish club permanently.
