Manager Fabrizio Romano has reported that AS Roma has submitted an official bid to Manchester United for the transfer of Joshua Zirkzee in the upcoming January transfer window. The prominent Italian journalist revealed that Roma, who are striving to clinch the Serie A title this season, is proposing a loan arrangement for the Dutch forward with an obligation to buy him permanently next summer.

Romano stated: “Manchester United has acknowledged receipt of a formal proposal from Roma for Joshua Zirkzee. This involves a loan deal accompanied by a conditional purchase agreement, and United has confirmed that this offer was communicated through an intermediary.”

He added, “As mentioned in the days leading up to Christmas, Manchester United is taking its time regarding this matter.”

This season, Zirkzee has made three starts in the Premier League for Manchester United, added eight appearances off the bench, and netted one goal.

Fan Take: This news is significant for soccer fans as it highlights the ongoing player movement dynamics and strategic decisions that can shape team fortunes. Zirkzee’s potential transfer could be a game-changer for both his career and Roma’s title ambitions, adding excitement to the winter transfer window.
