Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton in the near future.
The 21-year-old is a great talent with a bright future ahead of him, and has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea. He has all the tools to develop into a future star and Tottenham will be prepared to pay a significant amount for him.
Spurs focus on Adam Wharton transfer
According to a report from TeamTalk, Tottenham had been exploring a move for the player at the beginning of the season, but no deal was reached. At the time, Crystal Palace were reluctant to sell the midfielder. They still hope to keep him at the club long term.
But Tottenham are willing to pay a high price to woo them. It remains to be seen whether they can beat out their rivals and get his contract. Manchester United also have a strong interest in Wharton. They need more quality and depth in the middle of the park and the 21-year-old could help them improve.
Both clubs need to further strengthen their control in midfield. The 21-year-old is good at controlling the tempo of games from deep and will also contribute defensively.
Wharton could make a big move
The opportunity to join Tottenham or Manchester United would be an exciting one for the young midfielder. It will be a step up in his career and he will aim to compete with them at the highest level. However, the two clubs may need to prove their ambitions to attract an elite young talent like him. They should aim to qualify for the Champions League next campaign.
It remains to be seen where he will end up.
