Rangers have made an opening offer to welcome Danny Rolle to his first contract at Ibrox in the January transfer window, according to reports.
Roll waits for ‘right timing’ in January window
Mr Roll anchored the ship at Ibrox after Russell Martin’s disastrous tenure. Gers’ win against St Mirren was solid but determined, ensuring the visitors’ late attack was nothing more than a consolation goal. They are currently third in the Scottish Premiership, six points behind leaders Hearts, but as far as Rangers are concerned, the title race is far from over.
Next up, Rangers face Celtic in the Old Firm derby, which is always an important game. Given the Hoops’ recent struggles, Rolle’s side should see the trip to Celtic Park as a golden opportunity to put one point ahead of their rivals.
Looking ahead to the match, Rohr told reporters: “Our belief is there. If you look at the moment, apart from losing 2-1 (against Hearts), we have picked up a lot of points.
“We’ve had some great performances, we’ve had some performances that weren’t all great. We’re confident now. It’s a big game, but we’re ready. I think this is what we want to see.”
“It’s important for us to be strong in this game. I think it’s important for the referee to be strong in this game as well. If we can do that, it will be a great game.”
The German also admitted Rangers were waiting for the “right moment” and, looking ahead to the January transfer window, said: “I think we know this window won’t be easy, but we’re moving forward.
“Let’s see what that means in the end. We can’t influence everything, but it’s clear at the moment. We know that in some positions we have to wait for the right time.”
Rangers submit contract offer for Emil Bohinen
In terms of transfers, Rohr will be looking for his first signing, but there may well be some players who arrive before others, with names like Jens Herdt-Dahl mentioned recently.
According to Calcio Spezia, reported by Sport Witness, Rangers have now submitted a contract offer for Emil Bohinen from Genoa in a move that will shorten the defensive midfielder’s loan spell with Serie B side Venice. The Norwegian has also reportedly recently changed agents, which could give quite a hint as to his future plans.
Better than Asgord: Rangers star is becoming Roll’s most important player
The Glasgow Rangers star is even more important to the team than Thero Asgaard to Danny Rolle.
It’s no great surprise that Gers are chasing midfield reinforcements, given how often Nicholas Raskin’s name appears in transfer headlines.
If Rangers lose the Belgian in January, they will need to find a suitable replacement. However, it remains to be seen whether that will happen in the form of Bohinen, who has played in Serie B this season.
