Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has opened up about the situation with Eberechi Eze, who has not played much in recent weeks.
The 27-year-old has played just 198 minutes for the first team in the last four games. He has started just 11 league games for Arsenal so far.
Eberechi Eze’s game time was limited.
Naturally, there has been a lot of speculation about the player and his importance to Arteta. The Arsenal manager revealed that the 27-year-old has plenty of game time and would not have played as much at Crystal Palace in the past as the Eagles had no European football until this season.
Eze has therefore played his usual game for Arsenal so far and will need to manage his game time.
Arteta said: “I have spoken to all the players and the players always need to understand and the manager needs to understand how each one feels, assess the game and assess their emotional state. He’s played more games and played more minutes. So I think he’s played in 22 or so games out of 28. So we’re on a good trajectory because he hasn’t played that much football.”
Eze will be a key player for Arsenal
Eze is a quality player who has proven himself over the years in the Premier League. He has made a positive impression at Arsenal since joining the club and will be hoping to play regularly. However, Arsenal cannot afford to overwork the player. Eze will also have to adapt to an increased workload and supplies.
The Arsenal manager’s approach seems reasonable at the moment.
The 27-year-old could become a key player for the team in the second half of the season. Arsenal are aiming to win the league and qualify for the UEFA Champions League. If you want to do well in both competitions, you need to manage your team properly.
