  • Casemiro’s difficult days at Manchester United
  • Manchester United need to change their midfield

Manchester United defensive midfielder Casemiro is reportedly the subject of interest from Brazilian club Palmeiras.

Ficajes quoted journalist Diego Firmino as reporting that Palmeiras could make an offer for Casemiro, whose future at Man United remains in doubt.

The report suggests that Palmeiras could offer the veteran Brazilian international a two-year contract, but it remains to be seen whether he will definitely return to the Brazilian league.

Casemiro is likely to receive attractive offers from elsewhere, with a Pro League club in Saudi Arabia also likely a viable destination for him, where he is likely to be offered a much higher wage.

Casemiro is one of the great players of his generation and has played a key role in some of Real Madrid’s best teams over the past decade.

The 33-year-old won five Champions League titles during his time at the Bernabéu, as well as three La Liga titles and other major accolades.

Casemiro has enjoyed a strong start to his career at United since joining in the summer of 2022, helping them win the Carabao Cup final in his first season at Old Trafford.

But since then, Casemiro’s form has gone downhill and he is clearly not the player he once was.

Manchester United need to change their midfield

Some imagine we’ll see Casemiro moving on soon, but he might not be the only one. Manuel Ugarte also struggled during his time in Manchester.

The Red Devils have also been linked with Nottingham Forest star Elliott Anderson, who could be a good replacement, with reports such as the Daily Mail reporting that he could be a good replacement.

Casemiro will undoubtedly be remembered for his incredible career, but he will be remembered primarily for his time at Madrid, rather than his later years in the Premier League.
