West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
The Brazilian is keen to return to his home country and Flamengo are hoping to bring him back to the club. However, no agreement has yet been reached between the two clubs. West Ham United are reportedly asking £50m for the Brazilian midfielder, but the South American side are said to be willing to pay around £35m.
The player is considering leaving the club this month, but it is unlikely that he will force a move. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can come to an agreement.
Vinicius vs Lucas Paqueta
Meanwhile, Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior has stated that considering the situation, he would like the midfielder to return to Flamengo. He is monitoring the situation through agents who represent both players.
“I am asking my agent every day about the transfer to Paqueta and Foramengo, who is also his agent,” the Real Madrid winger said (h/t London World). “His happiness is mine and Flamengo’s happiness is ours. If God wants, he will be able to conclude this deal in a few days.”
West Ham must save Paqueta until summer
Paqueta has been an important player for West Ham United since joining, and his departure in January will be a huge blow. They are already fighting for survival in the Premier League and losing one of their best players is not a wise decision. They should do everything in their power to persuade players to stay until the summer transfer window.
If necessary, the London club should consider agreeing a deal with a South American club for the player this month, allowing him to remain in the Premier League on loan until the end of the season.
