Leicester City are reportedly interested in Chelsea striker David Datolo Fofana again, but they may struggle to make a move happen.

According to the Leicester Mercury, this is not the first time the Foxes have been linked with the Blues’ ace, who is thought to be available on the market.

According to reports, Chelsea have recalled Fofana from his loan spell with Turkish club Fatih Karagmurk, where he starred this season.

Chelsea now appear to be considering letting Fofana go permanently, which could make the move more expensive for Leicester, who prefer to rent him.

It has been a tough season for Leicester, who have returned to the Championship after being relegated to the Premier League last season.

There’s no guarantee the Foxes will even move up the table right away, but as they currently sit five points out of the play-offs, it’s not impossible that a strong second half of the season could help make them more serious contenders.

The addition of a striker would be ideal for Leicester and Fofana looks like a player who can thrive at that level.

The Ivory Coast international looked promising when he first joined Chelsea, but it now seems clear he has no future at Stamford Bridge.

It will be interesting to see where he goes next, but it will be a challenge for Leicester to win the race for his signature this January.
