Turfway Park Racing & Gaming has decided to cancel its live racing events scheduled for Friday and Saturday due to severe winter weather anticipated in Florence, Kentucky. The National Weather Service forecasts wind chill temperatures dropping into the single digits early Friday and lasting through Saturday, along with the possibility of significant snowfall. The races canceled on these days, including the $125,000 Wishing Well Stakes, will be rescheduled as additional races on future race days. However, live racing will proceed as planned on Thursday, with the first race starting at 5:55 p.m. ET.

Fan Take: This weather-related cancellation highlights the challenges outdoor sports like horse racing face during winter, emphasizing the need for flexibility in scheduling. For fans and participants, it means eagerly anticipating the rescheduled races, which could intensify competition and excitement later in the season.
