Kate Scott is set to make her UFC debut tonight, transitioning from a distinguished career as a prominent sports broadcaster. With decades of experience hosting on major networks like CNN, Sky Sports, and Fox Sports, Scott is one of the first CBS personalities to join the UFC following Dana White’s announcement of a $7.7 billion deal with Paramount to secure U.S. promotional rights.

Most recently, Scott served as the desk anchor for the Netflix broadcast of the Jake Paul versus Anthony Joshua fight. She now becomes part of the UFC broadcast team as the organization enters a new era.

Kate Scott, a 44-year-old presenter from Manchester, England, has been in the broadcasting industry for more than 20 years. She has covered some of the most memorable boxing and soccer events and was previously known as Kate Abdo before adopting her married name after wedding Malik Scott, trainer to Deontay Wilder, in 2024. As the face of CBS’s UEFA Champions League coverage, she co-hosts the popular post-match show with football legends Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards.

In June 2023, Scott inked a new four-year exclusive deal with CBS Sports, strengthening her ties to the network. Her rich background in combat sports includes prior negotiations for a Misfits Boxing fight and anchoring several Premier Boxing Champions events, featuring high-profile rematches such as Tyson Fury versus Wilder. She also hosted Jake Paul’s bout against Anthony Joshua, Mike Tyson’s exhibition matches on Netflix, and the historic Katie Taylor versus Amanda Serrano trilogy at Madison Square Garden.

For UFC 324, aside from Scott’s addition, the broadcast team remains largely unchanged. The event in Las Vegas will see Joe Rogan back on commentary alongside Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik. Megan Olivi will handle the on-site reporting, with Din Thomas offering coaching insights, while Bruce Buffer continues his role as the official Octagon announcer.

Fan Take:
Kate Scott’s entry into the UFC broadcast team marks a significant evolution in how the sport presents itself, bringing a fresh yet seasoned voice to MMA coverage. Her extensive experience in combat sports media could help attract new audiences and elevate the overall production value, signaling exciting growth for the future of UFC broadcasting.
