Patrick Reed is enjoying a great run at this week’s Dubai Desert Classic.
Reed opened up a two-stroke lead at the Dubai Desert Classic after carding rounds of 69 and 66.
The American, ranked 44th in the world, will be keen to pick up a win in Dubai to improve his ranking.

His comments weren’t particularly controversial, but they did garner headlines, as expected when LIV golfers are involved. Even though his heart is with LIV Golf right now, what he said isn’t necessarily wrong.
But the conversation shifted from what Reed said off the course to what he’s done on the course because of how well he played.

Reed addressed the media Friday after shooting an impressive bogey-free round of 66 in Dubai.
The greens at Emirates Golf Club have sparked a lot of discussion this week. Reid talked about the differences from other venues and the opinions of the players.

“The problem is that it’s a little flat here compared to some of the places we play. We’re used to having different levels and really big slopes and things like that on certain holes.
“The greens are not as sloped here, but they are more delicate.
“The day before yesterday was one of those days where you go out and wander around the par, because obviously there were 40 mph winds blowing through the building.
“Today felt like an easy day, even though the winds were still blowing around 13 miles an hour. But I think mornings are always better here than afternoons, because for whatever reason, if you go up on top of the tall buildings in town, you’re just going up towards the holes that come back towards Townsville.”

Patrick Reed talks about changes he made between rounds in Dubai
After shooting a bogey-free 66, Patrick Reed spoke to the media about the differences between the first and second rounds of the Dubai Desert Classic.
Reed was asked Friday how he was able to beat his opening-round score by three strokes.
“I felt a little bit of both. Especially on the back nine, it felt like it was yesterday. I tried too much. I tried to take shots that I probably shouldn’t have, especially with the conditions and the greens. That led me to shortside a few times in the rough.”

“The way I played the golf course yesterday, the greens were hard and fast, so I couldn’t go short-sided in the rough, which I seemed to do every time I hit bogey. I missed a few short putts.”
“But with the way things went yesterday, I felt like it was going to be a tough play and an up-and-down round. But the good thing is today I felt like I was hitting the ball exactly where I needed to be. I feel like I was making solid putts.”
If he can maintain this level over the weekend while making enough putts, he could very well add another title to his resume.
