Trainer Eoin Harty Aims to Revamp Internal Strategy with Verity’s Comeback

Trainer Eoin Harty plans to enter another Godolphin homebred, the 4-year-old filly Verity, in the $225,000 Inside Information Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream Park this Saturday, just two races ahead of Poster’s bid for an upset in the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1). This 47th edition of the Inside Information, a seven-furlong race for older mares on the main track, is the eighth of ten stakes featured in a star-studded 13-race card beginning at 11 a.m. ET, which includes seven graded stakes totaling $5,675,000 in prize money.

Verity, piloted by her regular jockey Vincent Cheminault, will start from the far outside post 12 in a race named after the Ogden Mills Phipps homebred and 1995 champion mare Private Account. Harty’s filly is a daughter of Nyquist and granddaughter of Bernardini, both champions, and descends from the Group 2-winning mare Moyetti—another successful horse trained by Harty—with a career record boasting 4 wins and 6 second-place finishes in 11 starts.

Harty noted, “I trained her dam who was very classy and talented, but this filly is even better. She has a wonderful mind and is very composed, nothing seems to upset her.” Verity has been remarkably consistent, finishing first or second in five of her six career races, including a victory in the seven-furlong Beaumont (G2) at Keeneland last April. Though she suffered an injury while finishing fifth in the Eight Bells (G2) on the Kentucky Oaks undercard, she made a strong comeback with a second-place finish in a six-furlong Optional Claiming Allowance race on November 27, finishing two lengths behind an older competitor.

Harty added, “She’s a really terrific filly who’s never had a poor performance. The injury in the Eight Bells was due to a condylar fracture, which explains what happened. She returned to run very well, and this will be just her second race back. She’s truly a classy horse.” Verity is listed at 12-1 morning line odds, with the field’s favorite at 4-1 being Jody’s Pride, owned by Parkland Thoroughbreds, Sportsman Stable, and Avanti Stable. Jody’s Pride, who suffered a neck injury when finishing second in the 2023 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), has shifted focus back to dirt after an impressive turf winning streak in 2025, with last year’s only win coming in the one-mile Ruffian (G2) at Aqueduct.

Trainer Safi Joseph Jr. has entered a trio of contenders: Indy Bay (9-2), Claret Verret (12-1), and Dazzling Move (20-1). Indy Bay, the Charlestown Oaks (G2) winner, has not raced since being eased in the Cotillion (G1) at Parx on September 20. Claret Verret recently placed third in the 1-mile Rampart at Gulfstream on December 26, while Dazzling Move boasts a win in last winter’s Royal Delta (G3) at Gulfstream and has finished in the money in three additional graded stakes, including the 2025 Ogden Phipps (G1).

Rounding out the field are Sterling Silver and Necessity, the first and second finishers on the ramparts; One Magic Filly, winner of the 2024 Chillingworth (G3); Patricia Ann, a G2 finisher; stakes winner Her Luff; Royal Delta runner-up Grand Job; and Beyond Belief.
