Manager Arne Slott has confirmed that Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bicetic has suffered a setback and is sidelined again.
The 21-year-old has suffered a number of injuries in recent years and is far from playing this season.
“He doesn’t practice with the team, he’s always close to the team and rarely steps back,” Slott said of Bajicetic (James Pearce).
Stefan Vacic is struggling with injury
The Spanish midfielder is extremely talented and was expected to develop into an important first-team player for Liverpool a few years ago. However, due to repeated injuries, he has not been able to establish himself as a top team player.
Liverpool are currently struggling with injury problems and could have used a 21-year-old. He can play as a defensive midfielder, central defender or fullback. Vacic could have now had the chance to prove himself in the first team, but it looks like he has suffered another setback.
Should Liverpool sell Vacic?
It will be interesting to see whether Liverpool decide to sign the player at the end of the season. Although he is a talented player, his availability is abysmal and Liverpool often need a fit and quick player. Bazicetic has been linked with top clubs in the past.
Perhaps a break from English football could be ideal for the talented young midfielder. Vacic will be hoping to recover from his injury and play regularly at a high level. It remains to be seen how his future will develop.
There is no doubting the 21-year-old’s talent and if he can overcome his injury problems, he has the potential to become a quality player. As for Liverpool, it will be interesting to see how they deal with the injury problems they are currently facing.
