Leicester City are looking to strengthen their squad and have targeted Valencia youngster Raul Jimenez.
According to a report from Spanish publication AS via Sport Witness, Leicester City have made an attractive offer for the Spain Under-20 international. It will be interesting to see whether Valencia intend to allow him to leave.
Raul Jimenez is a top talent
The 19-year-old goalkeeper joined the La Liga club’s academy in 2020 and is highly regarded within the club. He has starred for the Spanish national team at youth level but is currently in the final year of his contract with Valencia and Leicester City are keen to capitalize on that.
Valencia do not want the player to leave the club and are willing to extend his contract until 2028. If the player commits to his long-term future, he will include a €60 million release clause in his contract. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop. Leicester City will no doubt hope that the player does not sign a new contract with Valencia, as they are unlikely to be able to afford to pay him €60 million.

Can Leicester sign Jimenez?
Jimenez is highly regarded in Spain and has high expectations for the future. He could develop into a quality player for Leicester City if they are able to sign him. They have had a disappointing season so far in the Championship and are fighting for survival. They are looking to build a strong team for the future and signing a 19-year-old would be a solid long-term investment.
It will be interesting to see if the player is interested in moving to a second-tier club in England. A move to England could be an exciting opportunity for him, especially if the Foxes are willing to offer him sufficient opportunities at a high level. It may help accelerate his growth and fulfill his potential.
