Andre Onana looks set to leave Manchester United (Photo by Marc Atkins/Getty Images)
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is already in early talks to return to Serie A giants Inter Milan.
As first reported in my exclusive article for the Daily Briefing, Man United and Onana are set to go their separate ways this summer.
The Cameroon international failed during his time with the Red Devils and is currently on loan to Turkish club Trabzonspor.
They are willing to keep Onana permanently, but Inter, who joined Juventus, are also interested in him and are reportedly considering the possibility of a return to Italian football.
Andre Onana could be offered to other clubs in the coming months
It is also understood that Onana’s agent is keeping an eye on the goalkeeping situation at Napoli and Roma.
Roma appear to be a realistic destination for the 29-year-old, especially as they could lose Miles Svilar this summer.
Onana could therefore be a substitute at the Stadio Olimpico and it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
For the time being, Onana’s former club Inter appears to be leading the race to sign him, but nothing is expected to be decided yet.
Onana failed badly against United, now it’s time to go
United will likely consider a move for Onana after his struggles at Old Trafford, and a sale this summer would certainly be beneficial for them.
Onana is a logical candidate to leave, but the likes of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte are also certain to depart in the coming months.
Onana has been replaced by Senne Lamence as MUFC’s number one goalkeeper, but there appears to be no immediate need for a new player in that position.
Onana shone during his last spell at Inter and Nerazzurri fans will be hoping to see him return to his best when he returns to the San Siro.
