Club Brugge midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks.
According to journalist Matteo Mollet, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have recently scouted the player. It remains to be seen whether they decide to sign this player in the near future.
Arsenal are also keeping an eye on Stankovic.
Man United and Spurs scout Aleksandar Stankovic
“A lot of English clubs go to watch him play and scout him live, like Tottenham, Manchester United and a lot of teams,” Mollet said on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel.
“But Inter are continuing to monitor Stanković’s development and are very calm about it. Why? Because they have the option of paying 23 million euros and bringing him back in the summer of 2026 (July 2026) or 25 million euros and bringing him back in July 2027. So basically, in the end, it’s all in Inter’s hands.”
The midfielder joined the Belgian club from Inter Milan and achieved great results for the team. Meanwhile, Inter are monitoring his progress and have the option of bringing him back to the club. They could sign him for 23 million euros at the end of the season, or 25 million euros in the summer of 2027. This clearly gives the Italian club an advantage in the transfer race.
Both clubs could use Stanković
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United and Tottenham will continue their interest and make formal offers to complete the deal. The young midfielder can play as a defensive midfielder or central defender. His versatility will be a big bonus. Both clubs need more quality in their defensive midfield departments and the 20-year-old would be a long-term signing. They have the resources to pay more than Inter Milan and it remains to be seen how the situation will develop.
The midfielder could be attracted to playing in the Premier League. It would be a big step up for him and would allow him to play for some of the biggest clubs in the world. Manchester United need a long-term replacement for Casemiro and signing Stankovic makes a lot of sense. Meanwhile, Tottenham will need a replacement for Yves Bissouma, who is expected to leave this summer.
