Champion filly Super Corredora, along with Meaning—who placed fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1)—are among six 3-year-old fillies preparing for next weekend’s Las Bergenes Stakes at Santa Anita, having completed their workout runs on Sunday. The group also features Sea Drew and Fortunate Truth, both under the guidance of trainer Dan Blacker, as well as Nimmer, conditioned by Bob Baffert, and Wild Like the West, trained by Richard Baltas.

Super Corredora, trained by John Sadler, completed a four-furlong drill in 48.0 seconds. She closed out last season triumphantly by winning the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Del Mar on October 31, earning the title of Champion 2-Year-Old Filly. Nimmer, owned by Zedan Racing Stables and also a daughter of Gun Runner, covered five furlongs in 1:00.6 for trainer Baffert; she previously finished third in the G2 Starlet Stakes last December.

Baffert also prepped 3-year-old colts Plutarch and Buetan, both nominated for Saturday’s one-mile Grade 3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes. Buetan, by Tiz the Law and also a contender in Friday’s G3 Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn, clocked four furlongs in 47.80 seconds. Plutarch last competed on November 30 at Del Mar over six furlongs on turf, finishing in 1:12.2 and defeating a maiden horse.

In the upcoming Grade 2 Fillies and Mares event Saturday, D. Wayne Lucas’s entries Irina’s Charm and Me and Molly McGee posted solid workouts. Irina’s Charm, trained by Phil D’Amato, ran five furlongs in 1:01.4 at Santa Anita. Molly McGee, handled by Peter Urton, has been resting since a seventh-place finish in the GI Test Stakes at Saratoga last August. Also prepping was four-year-old filly Vekoma, who covered four furlongs in 48.20 seconds.

Additionally, Gas Me Up, El Potente, Genius Jimmy, and Lord Bullingdon are training with an eye toward Saturday’s G3 Thunder Road Stakes (one mile on turf). Gas Me Up, the G2 Joe Hernandez winner, completed four furlongs in 49.80 seconds, stepping in for Eulton on the hillside turf course. El Potente, who placed fourth in the Joe Hernandez, finished his four-furlong work in 47.40 seconds for trainer Blacker. Genius Jimmy and Lord Bullingdon, both under Michael McCarthy, posted solid workouts; Genius Jimmy went four furlongs in 49.0 seconds, while stakes winner Lord Bullingdon logged five furlongs in 1:00.4.

Fan Take: These workout reveals highlight the emerging talent of the new crop of 3-year-olds and seasoned mares poised to make an impact this spring. For horse racing enthusiasts, these developments signal exciting upcoming stakes battles that could shape the future stars of the sport.
