  • Manchester United plan to waste summer
  • ‘Insanely good’ Irenki could be an exciting long-term deal
        • Manchester United’s ‘future £100m’ star could save millions in INEOS at Wharton & Anderson

Manchester United are currently making an approach to sign the “very good” midfielder, who director of football Jason Wilcox is personally keen on.

Manchester United plan to waste summer

Man United have enjoyed an impressive run of form since Michael Carrick took over as interim manager, winning their last four Premier League games. That means Frank Ilett, aka “United Strand,” is just one win away from getting a haircut.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have enjoyed a string of impressive wins, including defeats against rivals Manchester City and league leaders Arsenal, and are now five points behind sixth-placed Liverpool, meaning Carrick’s side are in a good position to qualify for the Champions League.

United should be able to attract some top players at the end of the season if they qualify for Europe’s elite competition, but it has now emerged they plan to spend the summer.

TEAMtalk reports that INEOS will spend £200m on new players if Carrick’s side qualify for the Champions League, with Elliott Anderson, Rocco Reitz, Carlos Baleva and Adam Wharton among the targets in central midfield.

However, according to the same report, Man United have been in contact with FC Norschelland midfielder Caleb Ilenki, who is also interested in Chelsea and Arsenal, and are also keeping an eye on moves toward an unknown number of acquisitions.

Wilcox is privately keen to sign Ilenki and a deal could be completed for a relatively low transfer fee by United standards, with the Danish club willing to stick with £22m.

‘Insanely good’ Irenki could be an exciting long-term deal

Nordsjälland teammate Amoako Junior took the time last month to praise the 20-year-old midfielder, saying: “Caleb is insane. He’s crazy good. I say that every time because he gets results almost every game, every game, and his consistency is top-level.”

“Caleb is a superstar and I say a lot to him every time, but he also wants to accomplish a lot.”

Since then, the starlet has picked up where he left off before the Superliga winter break, picking up his second goal and fifth assist of the season in a 2-1 win over Juske Sönder.

Ilenki is still very young and with Casemiro set to leave, it will be important for Manchester United to bring in a more experienced midfielder this summer, but the Norseland star could be an exciting long-term deal.
