Lexi Hull Cheers on Angel Reese’s Comeback to the Invincible Basketball League

Lexi Hull and the Indiana Fever’s 2025 WNBA campaign didn’t conclude as they had hoped. Despite missing key players Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham throughout the playoffs, the Fever managed to shock the Atlanta Dream with a win in the first game but ultimately fell just one victory short of making it to the Finals against the Las Vegas Aces.

Hull, now in her fourth season with Indiana University, arguably had the best year of her WNBA career in 2025. She posted career-best regular season numbers, averaging 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Starting the season off the bench, she eventually earned a spot in the starting lineup, replacing DeWanna Bonner.

As the WNBA offseason commenced, Hull stayed busy by competing in the second season of the Unrivaled 3-on-3 women’s basketball league. Playing for Rose BC for a second consecutive year, she currently holds a 5-6 record and the team sits in fifth place. The roster experienced changes after fellow Fever guard Aari McDonald was sidelined for the rest of the season due to a right foot injury, and a three-team trade impacted the lineup as well. Rose BC welcomed back Angel Reese, a Chicago Sky forward, who missed the start of the season.

Reese, known for her consistent double-doubles during Unrivaled’s first season and her time with the Sky, averages 13.3 points, 46.9 percent shooting, and 12.4 rebounds per game. Her presence will be crucial for Rose BC, especially since they currently rank last in rebounds per game with 30.0. Hull expressed enthusiasm about Reese’s return, sharing a supportive message on Instagram: “THE ROSEBUD WE’VE BEEN MISSING 🌹@AREESE.”

Hull remains a restricted free agent but is expected to re-sign with the Fever for the 2026 season, which kicks off on May 9 against the Dallas Wings.

Fan Take: Lexi Hull’s steady improvement and determination signify the growing depth and talent in the WNBA, offering fans more exciting storylines to follow. Her continued development and offseason hustle in leagues like Unrivaled highlight the increasing opportunities for women’s basketball players to grow and elevate the sport’s profile.
