  • Nate Diaz Sets His Sights on Regaining the BMF Title
  • Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira 2 Set for UFC 326

Nate Diaz has hinted at making a comeback to the UFC later this year. The beloved MMA figure concluded his 15-year tenure in the UFC after submitting Tony Ferguson in September 2022. Since then, Diaz has competed in two prominent boxing bouts, splitting results with Jorge Masvidal and Jake Paul. Now, at 40 years old, Diaz is signaling that he’s eyeing a return to MMA’s premier organization, possibly for a title shot.

Nate Diaz Sets His Sights on Regaining the BMF Title

This Wednesday, Diaz posted a video on social media showing himself taunting Jorge Masvidal after defeating Anthony Pettis in August 2019—a moment that eventually inspired the UFC to create the famous BMF (Baddest Motherf*cker) belt for their fight four months later. Masvidal became the inaugural BMF champion by winning via TKO (doctor stoppage) at UFC 244.

Diaz’s recent message on X (formerly Twitter) implies he intends to challenge for the BMF title once again. He wrote, “Let’s not start an entire department and do something that brings value to everyone they claim to be. I gave it a chance and paid attention to the worst fights that had unfinished business. And I’m going to go get mine as soon as possible to start the stupidest division of all time. You’re welcome, Mom. I’ll see you soon, I’m going.”

Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira 2 Set for UFC 326

In 2026, Max Holloway currently holds the iconic belt and is gearing up to defend it against Charles Oliveira in a highly anticipated rematch, scheduled for the main event of UFC 326 on March 7 in Las Vegas. Their first bout back in August 2015 was met with boos, as Oliveira was labeled a “quitter” after an unexpected and quick finish. Oliveira attempted a takedown but suffered a minor neck injury crashing into the Octagon wall, culminating in Holloway landing two body shots that floored Oliveira, prompting the referee to stop the fight after just 99 seconds.

Nate Diaz has expressed interest in facing whoever emerges victorious from the Holloway vs. Oliveira rematch for the BMF title.

Fan Take: Diaz’s potential return shakes up the MMA landscape, as his legendary status and unique personality bring excitement to the sport. A shot at the BMF belt could revitalize what many consider one of UFC’s coolest titles, offering fans high drama and fierce competition in an evolving division.
