Message from Jacob Ramsey to Villa fans
The midfielder showed his respect for his former club by applauding both the home fans and the Newcastle fans when he was substituted during the match.
The midfielder later wrote on social media: “Next round! Great to be back at Villa Park and see so many familiar faces yesterday.”
Ramsey has struggled to get regular minutes at Aston Villa and now wants to establish himself as a key player at Newcastle. There is no doubt that he is a talented player and with his ability to play multiple roles in midfield, he could be a very useful option for the new Newcastle side.
The West Midlands club were reluctant to lose Ramsey at the start of the season, but were forced to sign him for a fee of £40m to make ends meet.
