However, the Bundesliga giants have already agreed for Karl to sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena on his 18th birthday.
Karl, 17, is currently one of the most exciting young talents in world football after an impressive season with Bayern, and this is likely to attract significant interest from other countries.
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool and Arsenal are interested, but the Germany Under-21 international’s future is already secured and it seems unlikely they will be able to sign him.
Lennart Karl has already agreed to stay at Bayern Munich
Despite the contacts between Liverpool and Arsenal, Karl has agreed to sign a new contract with Bayern when he turns 18 in two days.
TEAMtalk’s Graham Bailey said: “Arsenal and Liverpool have revealed their interest in Bayern Munich’s rising star Lennart Karl, with sources confirming the Premier League giants have confirmed the teenager’s signing ahead of his 18th birthday this weekend.”
“Bayern are understood to have signed an agreement to extend Karl’s contract on his birthday, but we can reveal that negotiations are underway for a further extension, potentially tying him to a new four-year contract.”
The report also mentions interest from other top clubs including Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
How good is Lennart Karl?
Karl’s style of play has already drawn comparisons to Lionel Messi, and he looks set to have a great career at the top level.
The teenager has scored seven goals in 30 first-team appearances for Bayern this season, and one can only imagine how great he will become with a little more experience.
Liverpool and Arsenal may have done well to sign this top talent, but Bayern will be delighted that he seems to have committed his future to them.
