Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for former Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori, who could be available for around €35 million.

The AC Milan centre-back’s value was previously estimated to be nearly double that, but Fijages’ report on his links with Liverpool suggests his value has fallen.

This could give the Reds the opportunity to strike a bargain deal with Tomori, who could potentially be a smart addition to Arne Slott’s squad as they will likely need a replacement for Ibrahima Konate soon.

With Konate only months away from the end of his contract with Liverpool, the club must prepare for the very real possibility of the France international leaving on a free transfer.

Fiharges has also named Tottenham and Aston Villa as candidates for Tomori, and there is a strong possibility that they are keen to return to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old has been in great form since joining Milan from Chelsea, but playing abroad may be slightly hampering his chances of breaking into the England squad.

Tomori may feel he is running out of time to impress English managers, so coming back and playing for a Premier League club could be ideal for him.

Liverpool seem keen on him, but he could end up with a move to either Spurs or Villa.

Liverpool prepare to lose Ibrahima Konate

A reporter from The Athletic recently reported that there was no progress in contract negotiations between LFC and Konate.

The former RB Leipzig man has been a mainstay at Anfield in recent years and many big clubs will be interested in signing him once he becomes a free agent.

Real Madrid have previously been linked with Konate, but there has also been interest from Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

Tomori isn’t quite up to Konate’s league, but he comes on the cheap and could be a decent option to help in the slot in place of the Frenchman.
