2026 Genesis Invitational Wallet, Prizes, and Second Signature Event Payments

The 2026 PGA Tour season begins with Tiger Woods’ event, the Genesis Invitational, at the iconic Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles. This is the second year in a row that this season will be a big prize-money event for the 72 players competing in the tournament, which will be held on the Riviera for the first time in a year.

Collin Morikawa made a triumphant return to the winner’s circle at Pebble Beach last week, breaking a nearly three-year winless drought and taking home $3.6 million. There are few better places on the PGA Tour schedule to score wins at this point than in signature events. The best performers at Riviera this week will be rewarded even more.

With eight fewer players participating this week, nearly every spot on the leaderboard will earn a little more cash from Genesis’ $20 million prize pool, with the winner taking home $4 million. Last year, it was Ludwig Oberg who took home that top prize at Torrey Pines after a venue change due to the Los Angeles wildfires, and it will be interesting to see if his run on par with recent signature events continues.

Another player has won nine consecutive tournaments, a big change from 2024, when Scottie Scheffler won four of the eight tournaments on the calendar. As is the case every week on the PGA Tour, Scheffler was a heavy favorite coming into Riviera, but he narrowly missed the cut and will face a huge climb over the final 36 holes. Rory McIlroy heads into moving day just one stroke off the lead.
