Ryan Gerrard will be aiming for his second career win on the PGA Tour this week at the Cognizant Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He’s listed as a +1600 favorite and tied with Shane Lowry at +1700 from FanDuel Sportsbook. Gerrard, 26, has three professional wins, including his only PGA Tour win at the Barracuda Championship last July. At last week’s Genesis Invitational, Gerrard finished tied for 28th, 12 shots behind.

This year’s Cognizant Classic begins Thursday at 6:45 a.m. ET at the PGA National Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The tournament, with a total prize pool of $9.6 million, will be played on a 7,223-yard, par-71 course. Other favorites besides Gerard and Lowry include Nikolaj Hojgaard (+1900), Rasmus Hojgaard (+2200), Michael Thorbjornsen (+2200), and Keith Mitchell (+2700). Joe Highsmith is the defending tournament champion who won the 2025 tournament by defeating Jacob Bridgman and JJ Spawn by two strokes. Highsmith is +15,000 in this year’s PGA odds.

One of Canon’s predictions for the 2026 Cognizant Classic: He is completely eliminating favorite Gerard, and advises avoiding him in outright bets and playing against him in head-to-head bets as well.

“Last week at Riviera, we saw a 26-year-old born in late 1999 win, but we don’t expect another 26-year-old born in late 1999 to have another ‘party like 1999’ this week at Palm Beach Gardens,” Cannon told SportsLine. “Gerrard is a very good player who won his first PGA Tour win last season in his rookie year. He started this year on a red hot note by finishing runner-up for the second year in a row, but now he’s at the top of this watered-down field as the betting favorite, and his price is the same, if not lower, than Shane Lowry. He’s gone from being a 30-40-50 No. 1 longshot to being the sole favorite and now being ‘hoped for’, it’s a completely different world. Win the golf tournament. ” See who Kanon supports on Sportsline.
