Cesc Fabregas’ rapid rise as a manager

Fabregas’ achievements have seen him emerge as one of the most exciting young managers in world football since becoming Como’s permanent manager in 2024. He has led Como in 69 games, averaging 1.54 points per game.

The Italian club are playing an attacking and attractive brand of football under the 38-year-old’s direction. Como currently sit sixth in Serie A and are favorites to qualify for the Champions League. Their performances have boosted Fabregas’ reputation as a manager, with English clubs now looking to include him on their bench.

Igor Tudor has been in charge of Tottenham on an interim basis, but the north London club are looking for their next permanent manager and Fabregas is pretty high on their wish list. The 38-year-old is open to a move to Spurs, despite strong links with Chelsea and Arsenal during his playing days.

If Tottenham were to indeed approach a Spanish manager, the London links would not be an obstacle. Apart from Spurs, there are other top clubs who would like to have him on their bench. As a result, it will be interesting to see where he ends up if he decides to move on from Como. For now, he seems focused on getting the Italian club into the Champions League.
