Video: PGA Tour player takes off shirt for wild water shot at Cognizant

Isaiah Salinda is having a week to forget. He started the week with a 6-over 77 at the 2026 Cognizant Classic in Palm Beach, but things didn’t improve in Friday’s second round.

They briefly had success when Salinda opened with a birdie on the 10th hole. However, disaster struck on the 11th, a quadruple bogey on the 8th par-4 hole.

A wayward drive resulted in a 50-odd yard punchout that ended with a third in the water. His fourth shot cleared the lake, but he missed the green slightly, and he needed four more shots to find the bottle from 25 feet. Hey.

If that wasn’t interesting enough, on Friday, on the par-3 17th that played 171 yards, Salinda missed the green and his ball just barely ended up in the greenside water. Like several others who attempted similar shots this week (see: David Ford, Nico Echavarria, K.H. Lee), Salinda took off her shoes and socks and rolled up her pants. Then he took it a step further, took off his white shirt and darted away towards the ball.

Already 9 overs for the week, this did not help. He hit the water ball on the green, but missed the par putt and still hadn’t tucked his shirt. A bogey there dropped him to 10 over, three strokes behind last place.
