Although the 25-year-old is a key player for the Reds, he is not usually an automatic starter, so it could make sense for him to think about his future this summer.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Jones is nearing the final year of his contract, which means his offer price is likely to drop quickly, and Inter appear to be taking advantage of that opportunity.
Liverpool fans won’t be too keen on the club letting Jones go, but given his contract situation and Arne Slott’s role in the team, this certainly seems like a story to watch.
Curtis Jones could become a key player for Inter Milan
Jones is a bit of an underrated part of this LFC team, but he looks like a player who could really start his career in Serie A.
The England squad will likely keep an eye on former Chelsea players such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori. They have performed well at the San Siro despite not being a mainstay at Stamford Bridge previously.
It probably won’t be easy for Jones to leave Anfield after spending his entire career at his boyhood club, but Inter could be a good move for him and he appears to be at the right time in his career to try a new challenge.
A report from Corriere dello Sport also suggests that Jones could be a key target for Inter, with Davide Frattesi’s future uncertain.
It is not yet clear whether Frattesi will leave the San Siro, but if he does, Jones could be the ideal replacement in the Nerazzurri’s midfield.
