Arsenal are very interested in signing Leon Goretzka at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder will become a free agent in the summer and Arsenal are currently preparing a “formal offer” for him. TEAMtalk reports that Andrea Berta is personally involved in the move and that Arsenal are keen to complete the move quickly.

Manager Mikel Arteta sees the player as a potential leader for his team, but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be able to secure a deal. The 31-year-old will add physicality and technical attributes in the middle of the park. Despite his age, he could be a very useful player for Arsenal in the short term.

He has proven himself in Germany for many years and the chance to test himself in the Premier League could be exciting for the German international. The 31-year-old has won some big trophies during his time in Germany and it remains to be seen whether he can also help Arsenal win big trophies.

Signing a player of his quality on a free contract would be a huge coup for any club. He has scored 48 goals and provided 49 assists for Bayern Munich.

Arsenal have assembled a quality squad, but they need more depth if they are to perform well in multiple competitions. Adding a player like Goretzka could be a wise decision. He has won several major trophies throughout his career and that winning experience can be invaluable.

During his time with Bayern Munich, he won six league titles and won the UEFA Champions League. He knows what it takes to compete regularly at the highest level and could change Arsenal.
