Lewis Hall has impressed for Newcastle United, with the club aware that scouts were purring after his strong performance against Barcelona in the Champions League.
The England international produced Newcastle’s most impressive performance in the 1-1 draw with Barça at St James’s Park, keeping Lamine Yamal relatively quiet and helping Eddie Howe’s side up front with some excellent passing.
According to iNews, Hall is likely to be given a new contract, suggesting it should be a top priority for the Magpies, who must ensure they do everything possible to lock up the former Chelsea youngster and improve his wages.
Lewis Hall is rumored to be linked with Manchester United
Hall’s form means he is sure to attract interest from bigger clubs in the near future, with Manchester United among the teams linked with him.
Recently, Viharges reported that Manchester United are eyeing the 21-year-old to reshape their back four and possibly move Patrick Dorg into a more attacking role.
It was previously reported that Liverpool were considering Hall, but ultimately signed Milos Kerkes as their new left-back last summer instead.
Manchester United need a new left-back
Hall would definitely be an upgrade over the unstable and injury-prone Luke Shaw, so it will be interesting to see if these particular transfer rumors hold up.
Other names have also been rumored, although it would be difficult for the Red Devils if Newcastle are able to tie Hall to a new and improved contract.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, MUFC’s other left-back target is RB Leipzig’s 27-year-old German national team ace David Raum.
However, Hall is young and may be a better long-term option. Coach Howe praised him as “outstanding” and expressed his importance to the team.
Having lost Alexander Isak last summer, NUFC will not be willing to let go of their other most important player.
