Chelsea are interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliott Anderson at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old has an impressive record with Premier League clubs and deserves to compete at the highest level. The England international has also targeted clubs such as Manchester City and Real Madrid. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can win the race for his signature.
They want to sign him to replace Enzo Fernandes. The South American player has been linked with a move from Chelsea, and Chelsea will need to make suitable reinforcements. However, Fernandes is a creative central midfielder, while Andersson is a defensive midfielder. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea decide to sign the creative midfielder. They will need to inherit Fernandes’ goals and creativity if he decides to leave.
Reports from Spain suggest the player could command a transfer fee of around 100 million euros in the summer and that Manchester United are monitoring his situation closely.
However, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be able to persuade the player to join the club, as they are confident they can offer him a leading role. On the other hand, losing Fernandes will be a blow to them. The Argentina international is a top-level player and one of the first names on Chelsea’s team sheet.
Real Madrid would like to secure his signature, but it remains to be seen whether a deal will go through. It may not be that difficult for Spanish clubs to convince players to leave. Fernandes has proven himself in England and could now be ready for a new challenge.
