Marc Cucurella talks about future move to Barcelona

Cucurella’s journey since joining Chelsea for £62m in 2022 has been quite the rollercoaster.

Although he struggled in the beginning, he has now established himself as a fan favorite, starting every league game.

However, the lure of Camp Nou remains strong for La Masia graduates.

While expressing his current happiness in London, where his family is well settled, he admitted that it would be impossible to turn down a move to Barcelona.

He told Marca: “It will be difficult to say no. It’s not just about me. I’ll have to think about my family too. If that happens, it will happen and we’ll see what decision is made.”

“You’re always thinking about going back. I’m very happy there, and so is my family. I’m planning on leaving here for a few years now.”

Chelsea could use Cucurella to sign Julian Alvarez

Cucurella has spoken of a return in “a few years”, but Chelsea’s board may have more immediate plans.

According to a report from Fichajes, the Blues are considering using the Spaniard as a potential bargaining chip in their bid to sign Atletico Madrid’s Julián Álvarez.

Chelsea are reportedly leading the charge to sign the Argentine World Cup winner, but face a hefty £85m valuation.

In order to reduce cash expenditure, the west London club could offer Diego Simeone an additional £35m for Cucurella to encourage the sale of their star attacker.
