Tottenham could reap significant financial benefits this summer thanks to a wise decision made by then-chairman Daniel Levy when letting striker Troy Parrott go in 2024.

The Republic of Ireland international struggled to break into the first team in N17 and was sold to Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in July 2024 for £6.7m.

However, the Spurs inserted a 20% sell-out clause in his contract, a move that looks increasingly great as Parrott’s market value continues to rise.

According to recent reportsLeeds United have identified Parrott as a key target as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

Daniel Farke’s team are among the suitors keeping an eye on the 24-year-old, with a potential transfer fee currently estimated. £25m.

If a deal at this price point were to go through, Tottenham would be entitled to around £5m.

This represents a huge return for a player who only played four senior games for the club.

Leeds are among the frontrunners, but other clubs such as AC Milan, Fulham and Wolfsburg are also said to be keeping an eye on the prolific forward, which could push his price further up.

Troy Parrott has been impressive since leaving the Spurs

Parrott’s departure from North London appears to have been the catalyst for his transformation into one of Europe’s most clinical young strikers.

After scoring a solid 20 goals in his first year in the Netherlands, the Dublin-born forward took his game to the next level in the 2025/26 season.

This season, he has scored 28 goals and assisted a further 10 in 42 games in all competitions.

Parrott’s success is not limited to club football. His five goals for Ireland in 2025, including an incredible hat-trick against Hungary, helped the country qualify for the 2026 World Cup play-offs.

At 24 years old, Parrott finally appears ready for the Premier League.
