Jordan Spieth is in a league of its own when it comes to career points average at the Masters. He entered the 2026 Masters with an average of 70.98 points at Augusta National, the highest ever among golfers who played at least 25 rounds. It’s been 11 years since Spieth won his only green jacket, but it’s clear he was competitive, even if he came up just short. Jon Rahm has the second-lowest scoring average for the 2026 Masters at 71.00, followed by Xander Schauffele (71.30).

This year’s event begins Thursday, and Rahm is also No. 2 on the 2026 Masters odds board. His +950 PGA odds are second only to Scottie Scheffler (+500), with Schauffele at +1600. Despite Spieth’s success, it has been more than a decade since his only victory was recorded as a +4500 long shot in golf. Before you lock in your 2026 Masters picks, be sure to check out our golf predictions and projected leaderboards from SportsLine’s proven computer model.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, simulates every event on the PGA Tour 10,000 times. This same model was successful at a whopping 16 majors entering the weekend, including the 2025 Masters, which will be the fourth consecutive Masters, and last year’s PGA Championship and British Open Championship.

Now that the 2026 Masters field is confirmed, the model has simulated the tournament 10,000 times and the results are surprising. Visit SportsLine now to see the predicted leaderboards.

2026 Masters predictions for Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm

One of the shocks of this model at the 2026 Masters was that Rahm (+950), the 2023 Masters champion and one of this year’s favorites, stumbled and didn’t even crack the top five on the leaderboard. Since winning two years ago, Rahm has only won one more 72-hole world tournament. That lack of success carries over into major tournaments, where he simply lacks competitiveness more often than he would have liked. Since the 2023 Masters, Rahm has finished 34th or worse at a major four times, but only once in the top five. The Spaniard is a player to avoid in Masters betting, given his very short PGA odds.

The model also has a solid prediction for Scheffler (+500), a two-time Masters winner and this year’s favorite to win. Scheffler has an astonishing 101 under par in his major tournament career, which is the all-time record. However, his 2026 was a bit of an eventful year. He entered the Masters on his longest winless streak in nearly four years, and had to withdraw from the last tournament due to the birth of his son. However, Scheffler has posted top-seven finishes in each of his past five starts at a major championship, so his ability to consistently stay in contention at big events cannot be ignored.

The model also examined the likelihood (+1200) of McIlroy becoming the fourth golfer to win consecutive green jackets. Last year’s victory was not only the crowning achievement of McIlroy’s career, but also his first major victory in 11 years. His long game metrics have been strong this year, with top-five rankings in total strokes gained, SG: tee-to-green, and SG: off-the-tee, but he’s lagging on the greens, ranking outside the top 100 in SG: putting. The Irishman has had limited participation in PGA events this year, finishing just three tournaments with mixed success. He was runner-up at Genesis, 14th at Pebble Beach, and 46th at The Players after winning the 2025 tournament. See the full Masters predictions from the model here.

How to make a 2026 Masters nomination

The model also targets two big-name players at +4000 or above who could do great at Augusta this year. Model pickups can only be seen here.
