Bayern Munich<\/span> witnessed a distressing moment when their rising star, Jamal Musiala<\/span>, suffered a severe leg injury just before halftime in the team’s 2-0 Club World Cup quarterfinals against PSG in Atlanta. The 22-year-old midfielder, known for his exceptional skill, chased a loose ball in the penalty area as PSG\u2019s goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma<\/span>, approached. However, Donnarumma’s landing inadvertently crushed Musiala\u2019s left foot, leaving his ankle visibly misplaced.<\/p>\n

Teammates rushed to his side, alarmed by the nature of his injury, while the referee quickly called for medical assistance. As Musiala received treatment, he was taken off the field on a stretcher.<\/p>\n

Bayern’s sports director, Max Eberl, commented post-match, noting that the incident felt more like a tragic accident rather than a result of reckless play. Bayern\u2019s head coach, Vincent Kompany, remarked on the severity of the injury, suggesting it appeared to be an ankle problem, though he refrained from giving a diagnosis.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Bayern officially confirmed that Musiala had sustained a fibula fracture.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, PSG managed to secure their victory with a goal from Desire Doue in the 78th minute, although the match wasn\u2019t without its troubles; they received two red cards, for Willian Pacho\u2019s foul and Lucas Hernandez’s incident. Despite being a man up from the sending-offs, Bayern couldn’t level the score, with Osman Demb\u00e9l\u00e9 sealing the win for PSG during six minutes of stoppage time.<\/p>\n

With this win, PSG is set to face Real Madrid in the semi-finals next week<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Last year, Musiala was honored as Germany\u2019s national team player of the year.
