We love hearing your comments and opinions, but letters containing questions are likely to be published. Q: Put aside the future of Willpower a little bit to mention the negative narrative growth that is being formed against other drivers in this Pensukedance. Unless I’m wrong, insufficient information, or both, I feel like David Malukas is treating himself and this situation with respectful and appropriate nuances. His approach seems to be commendable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Like Robin before you, you have the ability to shape opinions. And for good reason – we value your insights. My question: Give Marcus a chance without chasing after the villagers. He seems to get up on the wheel, respecting his competitors and handling himself well. Stick-and-Ball Sports regularly deals with replacing established stars with new energy and new approaches. This feels normal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marshall Pruett: Thank you for your thoughtful notes about shaping the words to ease Marca’s transition. Also, I think you want to be honest with those words to me, and this feels like a rush.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t think Penske’s opportunity is completely unfair. It’s not just there. When Devlin Defrancesco and Sting Ray Robb left Indy NXT to go to Indycar, we said the same thing. They needed another year to prepare properly. In both cases, the upward leap was too big, spinning the proverb wheels, trying to fill the gaps in education and preparations for overall execution. They quickly left school. It feels like the same scenario as Malukas, but ready to play at the Penske level.<\/span><\/p>\n

Remind yourself to draft an appetizing sophomore or junior. This comes across as a bad timing, as Pensuke was stuck in hiring a starter. Perhaps the team is lowering its lofty standards in the hopes of finding future gems that require polishing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marcus is a great kid and I have said it regularly before he reached IndyCar and will continue to say it for years to come. His parents were wonderful and did an amazing job raising him. He also has immeasurable talent. But that doesn’t change my reading about this situation. It entails the possibility of placing the winning criteria for the team and its welcome champion or race winner in their seats.<\/span><\/p>\n

He won a pole this weekend or at Nashville and was able to become the winner of the race before the season was over. If that happens, it’s much harder to say he’s not ready. But this wasn’t Elton Senna of Lotus in 1987 or Greg Moore of Forsyth in 1999, but everyone in the sport knew they were all the champions that needed to be hired by the top team to win their first title.<\/span><\/p>\n

These types of drivers are embellished veterans and split drivers like embellished powers to turn the page for future improvements for the team. I can’t think of anything Marcus has done to fall into this category. It’s not when we’re talking about cutting bait with power, which is rated as one of the best IndyCar drivers of the 2000s. If it’s a lesser Pensuke driver, certainly you won’t hear a complaint, but this is a complete discrepancy between height and achievement, and that’s why it would harm both if not in print. <\/span><\/p>\n

He’ll do well with Pensuke. How well are you? Are future champions waiting? perhaps. Probably not. And that’s not the kind of question that Pensuke would normally accept in the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pensuke looks like a genius if he jumps in and defeats McLaughlin and defeats New Garden. If Marcus proves to be a generational talent, then the power of the old man is currently number one, and we need to assume that McLaughlin and New Garden will leave as soon as possible, as Marcus achieves first position and Marcus is number one status and more Pensuke drivers head through the door.<\/span><\/p>\n

And when McLaughlin and Newgarden are steering Marca, Pensuke trades for its top performer, legend, and goes against the No. 12 car and takes third place. It is usually a gambling aversion organization, and is a huge gambling for the team and owner at the expense of key drivers. This is unusual for Penske. If this is something that normalizes saying it’s a natural transition, I can’t see it.<\/span><\/p>\n

That will happen. That’s not a question. Whether or not they are hiding in a way of respect and profit from Marcus, McLaughlin, Newgarden, Roger Pensuke and Team Pensuke is an open-ended item to answer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: After taking part in the fourth Grand Prix de Trois Rivi\u00e8re in the last five years, I’m more confident than ever that IndyCar is missing out on one of the most iconic gems on the motor racing calendar.<\/span><\/p>\n

This event has been around since 1967. It is very well attended and the whole city of Trois-Rivierres accepts this event. The circuit itself is excellent and offers great racing. It’s 1.5 miles, slightly shorter than Detroit and Toronto.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the Grand Prix, NASCAR Canada exists as its feature, and while it’s not rude to the great series, I’m sure IndyCar will draw quite a lot of numbers.<\/span><\/p>\n

IndyCar needs another marquee event in Canada (assuming Toronto is still there). It also offers another race in the Northeast for the series.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you’re listening, is food for thought food for IndyCar?<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul, Upper Haynesville, New Brunswick, Canada<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: Great events and great areas. I’ve always enjoyed my trip to race there. Formula Atlantic, and then Indy Light, which followed, was the Marquee series.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Genoa Racing Lights team won the Downtown Pit Stop Competition, which the Players featured in 1996, but they were really fighting the driver to provide the winning crew (I changed the right front tire) with a decent share of the $1000 award (he thought mostly his and gave him 30 percent).<\/span><\/p>\n

Returning is an explosion.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: I think I found something Roger Pensuke wasn’t good at. They promote the event, especially at the Pensuke Entertainment Group. Running a series and owning an IMS is one thing, but when it comes to event promoters, I think they’re out of the league.<\/span><\/p>\n

Have they ever entertained the idea of signing a group with a proven track record of Green Savory Promotion? GSP has been extremely successful in hosting events in St. Pete (also owned) in Mid-Ohio (also owned), Toronto (the Portland verdict has not yet been released). It may be very common for the GSP to be satisfied with sticking to the four races that already have, but I don’t think it’s a bad idea to reach out and see if you’re interested.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scott C., Greenwood, Indiana<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: Penske Entertainment is an area that appears to grow and improve as more events are on the rise, but yes, GSRP becomes a turnkey partner. I recently stated that this weekend’s Milwaukee race was a big test of whether Pensuke’s promotional team is being achieved at a high level, and that Pensuke has been informed that he is not involved in this year’s race. As it is the 2025 Wisconsin fairgrounds, there is one less track on the Penske watch list. However, the return to Nashville next week will be Pensuke’s production. So, despite your road and street racing specialization, make sure that GSRP is worth drafting for the oval finale.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: Does IndyCar have a team that sells street racing to the community? The reason I ask is that this seems like the real future of sports.<\/span><\/p>\n

People love eggs, but don’t seem to attend them like in the past. Will IndyCar ever come up with a circle on existing road course weekends? Saturday, two short sprint races (one race is a car with qualifying 1, 3, 5, etc., while the second race is for cars with qualifying 2, 4, 6 in the cut-off (elliptical) part of the street course (left turn only). <\/span><\/p>\n

Is IndyCar set up to create a new car that only fits the small engine formula, or will the new chassis be flexible in case the world of IndyCar’s engine maker needs to be flexible?<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the topics and race promotions around Fox? One more to get a TV eyeball and get local ads. Do you think Fox is only a national television promoter, or is it working with local affiliates\/IndyCar Marketing to take people to race?<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the new location of ERS, is there anything about the new car that is clearly different\/sees from what you know at this point?<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: If people barely appear in the oval race, wait until you run into Robal a little.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, IndyCar follows the same small displacement formula that we have used for most of the last 50 years. Yes, I think the local efforts are solid as Fox supplements local affiliates that broadcast content nationwide. However, Fox Sports has not created a new IndyCar promotion department. So, we can work with Pensuke to increase our promotional efforts for IndyCar.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is no new location for ERS. Same place. It is said that the car looks different from the DW12, but it is handsome.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Don’t expect dramatic changes to the IndyCar engine formula. Matt Fraver\/IMS<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Q: I really enjoyed the Monterey Reunion video, especially the warm-up video of Williams FW11. You called it religious, ground shaking, and one of the coolest things you’ve experienced at your age. Ever since I saw Mikasaro driving an FW11 in Goodwood in 1999, it has been my favorite F1 car, mainly due to the sound of things and violence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Want to know what other racing cars give you that feeling? For me, the latest is Prescott and Shellsley Walsh’s 650bhp, 400kg British hill climbing vehicle. Before that, I had my first time watching the Indy 500 in 2017 (frankly, everything else has been pushed to second place since that day).<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: Thank you for the great question, Gareth. Many first: I’ve been watching and listening to the Jaguar XJR-7 IMSA GTP for the first time. Same as an Audi 200 trans vehicle. IMSA GTO triple rotor Mazda RX-7. Audi R10 diesel. Le Mans Porsche 919 Hybrid. When I first heard that the 2.65L cart turbo V8 was warmed up <\/span>–<\/span> I don’t remember that year <\/span>–<\/span> It created my life. Ferrari 333SP WSC is taking action. Aar Eagle MK. III made her debut with Laguna Seca.<\/span><\/p>\n

I’m sure I can double or triple the list.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: Have you heard rumors that Pabst won the 2025 USF Pro 2000 Championship in three races and was promoted to NXT in 2026?<\/span><\/p>\n

Max Garcia looks like another Max we all know in the racing world. If budgets are available, he hopes to ride the Ganasi NXT in 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Does Garcia have good support as far as you know? Does Chip see his NXT team as a platform that only needs to sign funded drivers or could assess their potential? Perhaps the free cash on all chips is naturally filmed in the Paloo\/McLaren scenario.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oliver Wells<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: Penske is intended to fund Garcia’s transition to NXT. I’ve never heard of Augie adding NXT, but he should. A great team. The NXT teams paying for drivers to compete in cars are not sure. Some may receive paychecks from sponsors they bring, or travel and living expenses, but NXT is like an expensive university where scholarships are limited to one or two per season. The rest involves paying the NXT team to get into the car, through family money, sponsorships, or both.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: Have you ever heard if IndyCar will eventually create a mobile IndyCar game for countless fans? I ask now, as additional funding and marketing appears to be flowing into the series based on Fox’s purchase of minority interest in Penske Entertainment.<\/span><\/p>\n

This really needs to happen. Have you heard of any news you might be able to share?<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: I’ve heard nothing, but I ask. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: I know Townsendbell was talking about the other side of him, but Scott McLaughlin, who runs the Daytona 500, isn’t the worst idea I’ve ever heard.<\/span><\/p>\n

Missouri Raz<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: It may be fun, but you can also think about the Pence Kaindy Car Driver with two Indy 500 wins, the first option to try out Daytona.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: In theory, do you think Indycar, which uses short elliptical aeros, could defeat non-oval aeros on Road America and Watkins Glen (NASCAR layout)?<\/span><\/p>\n

Does the IndyCar rulebook determine where it is used? <\/span><\/p>\n

MP: No. yes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: I’ll read and watch everything about Indycar. Obviously, the three Pensuke teams had a disastrous year before gaining power in Portland.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why weren’t there no more written or said about the disastrous year, a direct result of Roger having to clean his house a few months ago? It seems to be quite a cause and effect. Am I missing something?<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: Yes. I’ve written many times about how the team got off to a soft start before everything exploded at the 500. I’ve never seen you write about bad years being a cleaning house because it started with 500.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: As a longtime Scott Dixon\/Chip Ganasi Race fan, I have to ask: What happened to Dixie’s qualified mojo? He certainly seems to have a race pace, and with Paloo’s performance this year, CGR knows how to put together a simple car.<\/span><\/p>\n

John V, Ohioville, PA<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: Qualifying wasn’t a big Dixie contract for a few years. Summoning the same world-dominant attack needed to get IndyCar pole or something nearby is often the first to surrender with age. That was for longer than I was alive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Look at Willpower, the best pole king ever in IndyCar. In his most recent championship season, he won five poles in 2022. He was able to get through hell in 2023 with a distraction of his wife Liz’s serious medical issues and still grabbed two poles.<\/span><\/p>\n

But what if the statistics all favor him and ignore his amazing 2022 season, which he’s seen on race day from 2023 to 2025? Try 14 podiums and 4 wins. This highlights that while Paul begins to fade in Twilight, the single session, more important than the rest of the motor racing, will not replace experience and racetracks.<\/span><\/p>\n

That’s totally accurate for Dixie, who hasn’t been on Paul since 2022. However, since 2023 he has won six wins and 14 podiums, finishing second in the 2023 Championship, sixth in 2024, and currently third.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regardless of how many birthdays Dixon has, he became an early pick on the IndyCar fantasy team. Joe Skibinksi\/IMS<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Q: Did David Marcus really need fuel on Portland’s Lap 104? It is highly doubtful that he left the pit right in front of the leader. The real need for fuel, or Penske Shenangan?<\/span><\/p>\n

Joe, Turlock<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: He’s been running 10 times<\/span>th<\/span> When he pits a 3-second fuel splash, I can’t find the logic to finish 19 to throw away the top 10<\/span>th<\/span> When the power was doing well on my own. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: What a strange whi from a Portland official. As the presenter suggested, if they both crossed the queue, punish both! Obviously, Daily’s penalty was arbitrary as it was out of the race, and Rasmussen’s penalty should be even more severe, but taking zero action makes no sense to me. That you really don’t understand that it wasn’t at least received formal reviews. Did Indycar hire Robin Pemberton for race control when no one was looking for?<\/span><\/p>\n

Glen<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: When you talk to most IndyCar drivers, you’ll say that your driving standards are lower than any point in your recent memory. That’s a really strange scenario. I don’t know what to do if those in charge of law and order are willing to do the laws and orders necessary to restore and maintain peace.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: For years we’ve been asking about DEG tires and drivers who need to save their tires, whether it’s the IndyCar series or the NASCAR. I’m sure the setup will play on this, but is there a way to explain how this is achieved? If the answer is too unrelated, I hope Rayman’s words can cover it in the offseason. <\/span><\/p>\n

DZ, Indiana<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: Think of tires like energy just like big meals provide energy. If you want your tires to last as long as possible, avoid pushing too hard to get started and giving the energy too fast to start.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just like if you have a large steak and baked potato on a plate, both let the wolves down in 5 minutes. You took all that energy and turned it into massive stomach pains and bloating and pain. Take it quickly, eat at a measured pace, or prevent digestive issues that destroy the rest of the afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Energy, whether it is traction at the racetrack or maintains fuel in our bodies, in both cases being smart and intentional about how that energy is consumed is where success is found. You can get pain and pain within minutes, either by attacking from the outside with a fork and knife, or by rotating the tires or quickly placing excessive side roads to bring high persistent heat to the rubber.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: During the Portland broadcast, Townsend Bell suggested that Pensuke had no choice but to maintain Willpower after the victory. Townsend then suggested that Pensuke move Scott McLaughlin to NASCAR. Because “He is the only driver on the planet that has defeated the SVG.” I think I respect Townsend and know the answer, but there’s nothing true about this, right? I don’t know why Scott wants to uproot another new type of race in a few seasons and learn. Unless they cut off their connection with Austin Sindrick (heavyly denies it), the NASCAR team also has no room.<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: McLaughlin has signed an advantageous extension to continue Penske for Indycar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: It’s not a question at all, but I just wanted to share something. I was just on my way to work and heard an ad for Milwaukee Indy Car Race at my local rock radio station. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. I know there were signs for races in some areas as well. It’s nice to see them actually promote the race and put in some effort. I’ve been to Milwaukee since I was a little kid in the mid-90s, so it means a lot to me and my family. I want to see it succeed. Want another solid crowd. <\/span><\/p>\n

MP: It’s great to hear. People who promote it at Wisconsin fairgrounds know what they’re doing.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: I was watching a bit of races in Road America. Have you wondered if there was an oval shape created by changes in elevation?<\/span><\/p>\n

Janice, Florida<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: I hope readers share some answers as it’s not something that comes to mind.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: Do you think there is some kind of connection with HMD B2B connection that will help promote Malukas and Penske Marriage? I think Dave will be a solid driver for Pensuke, but as I mentioned in last week’s MailBag, Team Pensuke was not a finishing school for drivers. So why push the team’s top performers out right now?<\/span><\/p>\n

Gym<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: I’ve heard this theory of a considerable contract between HMD Trucking and Penske Corp came up a few times as a reason for clearly urgently replacing power despite being Penske’s top driver in two seasons of running. I can’t say if it works or not, but I’ve certainly heard it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: My understanding is that Malukas and Ferrucci are driving a Penske-Prepped vehicle with the same setup as the Penske driver. This generally applies to all IndyCar teams with technical alliances, but with Penske in particular, what advantage does Malukas drive for the Penske team they don’t currently get? Can I say that all five drivers race on equal machines?<\/span><\/p>\n

Will, Indy<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: They drive for AJ Foy Race in cars prepared and operated by AJ Foy Race, not Team Pensuke. They utilize the technical specifications provided by Penske, and Malukas has a Penske Race engineer. One team is the most won in IndyCar history, while the other team has not won a race since 2013. Equal machines are unequal due to the different talents of the drivers and teams who use the machines.<\/span><\/p>\n

From an engineering standpoint, the Voyt car is not a Pensuke clone at all, but it definitely looks like Pensuke. Matt Fraver\/IMS<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Q: First of all, I would like to thank you and the racers for their dedication to MailBag. We read this religiously. Some of your comments don’t always meet with gratitude from some of my friends. But I am totally grateful for your neutral effort, but of course I love the slightest opinions you interfere with. This is, after all, the purpose of a mail bag, but isn’t it?<\/span><\/p>\n

In response to State University’s Jeff in Bag last week, comments on Connor\/Christian’s dust, as well as some other comments on this issue, we can hope and pray that IndyCar will soon have the parenting they need.<\/span><\/p>\n

We all want to see a good hard race. And yes, some Argy Burley, but a little more respectful. Our cars are incredibly safe, but this should not start to indiscriminately use them as a tool to achieve passing operations.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t think there’s a real question here. No one knows who knows, so when do you know where it ends?<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: I will be participating in Music City Grand Prix. On Sunday morning, we will confirm that there is an IndyCar driver autograph session (Indy NXT driver on Saturday). How do autograph sessions work? From the photos online it looks like they have their own little tables so can you walk around and get to everything? <\/span><\/p>\n

Do you line up with one driver at a time? If so, should I only focus on some specific drivers I want to meet the most? How realistic (or unrealistic) is it to meet all of them? <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: I lift the Racer.com IndyCar site every morning – daily dul looking forward to reading stories like Marshall. But I’m currently visiting the site every day to see the rendering of the new chassis. Is there a timeline for publication?<\/span><\/p>\n

John Sullivan, Leeds Summit, Missouri<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: I’ll look into it. In addition to the recent 33% sales, we don’t expect such a download item to be on the front burner.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: Assuming David Malukas moves to Penske in 2026, will you see Myles Rowe move to Foyt Racing in Penske’s junior seat, perhaps 2027?<\/span><\/p>\n

Mike, Parkland<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: It’s not next year. Miles needs another season of NXT before he can be ready to perform at IndyCar.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: Many other sports have a “post-death” of hosts listing calls that have been missed in the supposed efforts to be transparent. But Indycar holds a wall between race stewards\/officials and the public (for example, you have been denied a race control interview).<\/span><\/p>\n

Once the new host team was in place, did they talk about transparency at all? Their attitude is like, “It’s our game and you’re just watching, so you deserve nothing but to pay us and be happy.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Is there a chance that the new setup will give you real moderators and accountability to the officials?<\/span><\/p>\n

DJ Odom, Anderson, In <\/span><\/p>\n

MP: Interesting thoughts, DJ. I don’t see other racing series do this, so there’s no reason to choose one of them. But yes, the idea that how things turned out makes you completely transparent about how decisions were or weren’t made may restore the lacking faith in the building.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: A few years ago, Ed Carpenter remembers in an interview that he and Will Power were friends and hope that he would one day drive for him. Do you think Ed considered adding a third car, or do you think he’s dropping one of his current drivers and has the chance to spare for a will? <\/span><\/p>\n

He appears to be receiving solid financial support now. Power is an upgrade to what he currently has. Rossi and Rasmussen are solid, but not exceptional. Plus, Ed has always had a strong car for Indy. Without a charter, this scenario is possible. Could he end up in the ECR, even with the smallest chance?<\/span><\/p>\n

Jerry, Pittsburgh<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: If Ed can get his third charter, yes, the idea is to expand. Without one, or without replacing one of his two current drivers, no. Both have contracts until 2026, so if there’s no full budget to expand to charter and three, there’s no Will home.<\/span><\/p>\n

If I look at all the parcels that these entities believe have their total valuations are under $118 million <\/span>–<\/span> If you add thousands, then $117,961,000. This should be a fairly good estimate of the structure’s land value, as Indiana’s valued property values are based on market value. <\/span><\/p>\n

3) The valuation of the property valued is undervalued. This could be with an assessor in Marion County (Indianapolis).<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: I’ve been excited to see AJ Foy Race over the past two years and believe that Foyt’s team is competitive and relevant. Patterns have emerged this year, as they carefully looked at the team during practice, qualifying and race day. No matter how talented the talented Ferucci is, and how far ahead of race day he can recharge, he can’t qualify to save his life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, it is clear that David Malukas is extremely talented and has better practice time than Santino Ferrucci. He is also more consistently qualified than Ferucci, especially recently. But unlike Ferucci, who charges from behind to get position, Marcus almost always seems to be worse than he started – sometimes much worse. These people are totally against it. Are you insight into this strangely different pattern of outcomes?<\/span><\/p>\n

Tom, Brain, Minnesota<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: Malukas is young and very fast, with great young Penske race engineers. He also had really good racing performances recently, but yes, his lack of experience was a limiting factor in too many races.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferucci took a step back without him faster in the same session with the same engineer last year. But he and his new engineer have made great strides and he is an explosion to see on Sunday. I can’t wait to see what they can do in the half season next year.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: Do you think Lundqvist regret not using his FR Americas scholarship, which allowed him to ride Super Formula?<\/span><\/p>\n

His failure to take that opportunity seems to have hindered the momentum of his advancement. He could have done it easily by continuing to hone his skills further. And then, as a super formula, he was able to draw attention to F1, and if not, he returned to IndyCar.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s a shame he’s on the sidelines and doesn’t go anywhere. In this business, the longer you get into a car, the more likely you will be to forget your previous championships regardless of the lower championships.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rusty Shackleford, Ahlen, Texas<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: I don’t. He was the best team full-time driver at IndyCar last year. Everything else is a series of maves and a zero guaranteed IF. He is gaining real interest from the IndyCar team.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Q: I’m reading that VP Challenge is thinking about adding an endurance race for the LMP3. Isn’t that the purpose of the series a more cost-friendly alternative to IMPC?<\/span><\/p>\n

It would probably make more sense to add the LMP3 to IMPC and make the series a truly small Weathertech series. So, along with AMS, there is a proper training ground for up-and-coming professionals, and you are used to multi-class racing at three different speeds. Also, the Weathertech series cannot add races due to running time. IMSA wants to become more of a headliner and reduce the number of sharing weekends with IndyCar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wouldn’t IMSA be smarter to continue expanding IMSA’s brand footprint across the country by using IMSA for other events not being held by the Weathertech series? The five endurance rounds must only be events shared by IMPC and Weathertech. IMPC can then go to St. Pete, Portland, Kota, Barber, Trois Rivieres, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: As we have seen IMSA make under the current president, such decisions are not made in isolation by the series, but after hearing the wishes of drivers and participants, or after having an idea and having the idea on a wide range of owners and drivers. “We just drop the P3 car into the VP challenge and see what happens” approach is not what is proposed here, but rather how we went about our IMSA’s business.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the smarter ones, I think the low number of cars and bad races in the VP Challenge will lead IMSA to pull P3 cars out of the series. Also, if participants and drivers in the Michelin Pilot Challenge want a P3, IMSA will respond and make that change. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

I’m a fan of both drivers, but one driver heads to Pensuke. The other will remain in the series if he can find millions in sponsorship. For me, there isn’t much difference in overall performance. Tough sports! (I know that the ranking of points makes it look like a bigger gap)<\/span><\/p>\n

MP: There are no clues regarding the evaluation. Pensuke has a soft spot for Voith, but I hope it doesn’t change.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perception is powerful. David is much younger and can be seen in that youthful light, potentially. The other is Connor, who is not old, but made his IndyCar debut in 2013, and is recognized as an old known amount with nothing new or offering.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a stupid perspective, as he didn’t have one or more races in the top team (Andretti of the Indy 500, where he was excellent). That’s where recognition comes into play.<\/span><\/p>\n

We don’t know what Connor could be for Pensuke\/Ganassi\/McLaren\/Andretti on a full-time deal that had shots to develop every aspect of his talent and professional skills. But Marca’s situation is different and that’s why he is seen in a different way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: Someone has to bring absurdity to a stupid season, and I thought maybe that’s the case too. What about the idea of showing Penske’s transporter door to the New Garden and re-signing the power?<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, New Garden has won two 500 in a row, and is one of the faces of the series. But this is why I go stupidly 1\/10:<\/span><\/p>\n

If he doesn’t roll the track well on Friday, he’s finished 10th to 15th in the race. I don’t know what his average best\/worst finish has been over the last three seasons, but I think he’s the poorest on the team.<\/span><\/p>\n

He avoids the press when it doesn’t work. He is the opposite of Rahal, who has been facing music for years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The press conference after the St. Petersburg misconduct case was embarrassing and had to go against all lawyers. If it didn’t work, it was a low-cycle movement, but it wasn’t.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kelly Crandall: I totally hope that Iowa Speedway will remain on the Cup schedule. However, there were rumours that there were questions about their future with NASCAR. The fan base in the area has done an incredible job of encountering NASCAR races.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: Do you ever see Catherine Rege on either the Coke Zero Sugar 400 or the Daytona 500 by Daytona?<\/span><\/p>\n

KC: <\/span>Legge is currently not approved to run Superspeedway races in the Cup Series, but it can be done in other series. Plus, if she continues to partner with Live Fast Motorsports, you will usually see BJ McLeod running those races in his car. He enjoys those events and feels always competitive.<\/span><\/p>\n

George won the Indy seven times, <\/span>wonderful<\/span> I’m a thinker, but I’m entangled with AJ Voyt. Sneba let everyone go crazy, but that was his nature and he was a gas man, so you knew you were going straight ahead. Gordy drove as hard as any man before or since he was, and he didn’t mind anything else… well, except for the women, it sacrificed all his Indy bounty. Now he’s a great woman (Su) and makes real money working 70 hours a week, so it’s so cool.
