Wayne Rooney was asked to rate the new signings of top Premier League clubs during the summer transfer window, but he doesn’t rate Tottenham’s signing highly.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spurs made a number of new signings in the summer transfer window, two of which are Mohamed Kudus and Joao Parinha.<\/p>\n

Both have done reasonably well in adding quality and depth to Thomas Frank’s squad.<\/p>\n

Fans are still waiting to see their best performances, but they have shown they can be part of the Spurs set-up for a long time.<\/p>\n

High-profile signings at other clubs include Victor Goqueres from Arsenal, Jo\u00e3o Pedro from Chelsea, Alexander Isak from Liverpool and Brian Mbeumo from Manchester United.<\/p>\n

Wayne Rooney rates top clubs’ summer signings<\/p>\n

Rooney was asked to rate these additions on a five-point scale, and the former Manchester United striker, to the surprise of Tottenham fans, rated Gokeres higher than Kudus.<\/p>\n

In response to a question from Amazon Prime Video, Rooney had the following to say about the top club’s summer signings:<\/p>\n

Alexander Isaac is 2\/5, Woltemade is 3\/5, Mbeumo is 4\/5, Wirtz is 2\/5, 4\/5, Tijani Leiders is 3\/5, Joao Pedro is 3\/5, Mohamed Kudus is also 3\/5.<\/p>\n

It’s debatable which player signing has been the best so far this season. Man United’s Mbeumo recently caught the attention of fans with his recent goals against Liverpool and Tottenham.<\/p>\n

Woltemade adapted quickly to the Premier League and made an early impact replacing Isak at St James’ Park.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Kudus added a new dimension to Spurs’ attack, providing a creative spark up front.<\/p>\n

There’s still a long way to go this season so it may be too early to tell, but Gokeres poses a threat to the Gunners’ front line.<\/p>\n

He may not have been in the same form as he was at his former club Sporting, but six goals in 14 appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side is not a bad return.<\/p>\n

But his game is about more than goals and assists. Gokeres gives them physicality up front and his movement creates space for wide players.<\/p>\n

It may not be entirely unfair to rate Gokeres higher than Kudus at this point, but all the signed players are taking their time to prove themselves, and a final decision will only be made at the end of the season.<\/p>\n
