Adrian Newey is the subject of a new documentary that tells the story of the legendary F1 designer’s career and work at Aston Martin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the working title ‘Turbulence: The Greatest Mind in F1’, the documentary will be co-produced by Artist Equity, including executive producers Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Kyle Wheeler, along with Whisper and Mark Stewart Productions (MSP).<\/span><\/p>\n

Working with F1 and Aston Martin, we look back at the ups and downs of his career, from his dominant days at Red Bull to Ayrton Senna’s death at Williams in 1994, while focusing on his attempts to turn his latest team into a championship contender.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Mark Stewart approached me about making a documentary film, I was honored, but at first I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to do it,\u201d Newey said. “But one of the moving things about my 2017 autobiography is that I received so many letters telling me how much this book sparked their interest in and appreciation of the design and engineering that goes into race cars, how interactive car design is with drivers, and how much success is influenced by mindset.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI hope this film can portray the passion, work practice and fortitude that goes into putting an F1 car on the grid. The film depicts the challenges I faced when joining a new team in early March to prepare for perhaps the biggest regulation change in F1 history. It also delves into the story behind my career to date and how it has helped prepare for this huge challenge.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s been a wild journey so far, but F1 never stands still and we hope this film captures that restless energy and our constant drive to improve our performance.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the documentary appears to be focused on Aston Martin’s current journey, it also includes footage from the past, making it the latest offering to offer wider F1 storytelling in both the UK and US entertainment markets. <\/span><\/p>\n
