Minnesota\u2019s Attorney General Liz Kramer, along with Minneapolis authorities, has formally requested urgent intervention from a U.S. court. In a letter, they emphasized the critical need for judicial action to halt ongoing harm inflicted on the communities of Minneapolis, St. Paul, and throughout Minnesota due to what they referred to as Operation Metrosurge.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe plaintiffs and their communities desperately require a court-mandated pause to prevent further irreparable damage affecting the health, safety, education, and well-being of residents,\u201d Kramer and her team wrote. \u201cThis situation cannot persist\u2014we need courts to intervene before Operation Metrosurge claims another life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Actions against ICE are being demanded as part of the response. The letter stated, \u201cThe evidence provided is ample to warrant immediate relief. The plaintiffs have proven ongoing, irreparable damage along with significant constitutional issues. Delays in court action only worsen these harms and threaten the very rights the judiciary is tasked to protect.\u201d<\/p>\n
Former WNBA players have also joined in asking for prayers. Angel Reese accompanied her request with the heartfelt statement, \u201cI’m praying for our country.\u201d<\/p>\n
