Despite this, Ogwumike places a high priority on maintaining open lines of communication with the league\u2019s 140-plus players\u2014something she admits is the most demanding part of her role. \u201cI want every player to feel like they can reach out to me, even if I can\u2019t develop close relationships with each one,\u201d she said, acknowledging the time and effort that requires.<\/p>\n
When discussing the state of the CBA talks, Ogwumike expressed confidence and unity among the players. \u201cWe\u2019re showing incredible perseverance. We\u2019re aligned on our priorities and our message,\u201d she said. While they stand firm on critical issues, they continue to negotiate in good faith. Ogwumike made it clear that securing a deal quickly is desirable but emphasized the importance of getting a quality agreement over simply meeting deadlines. \u201cWe want to be recognized for our value on the court.
